Mr. Moreland is the founder of Sudden Systems, an
information technology consulting firm. During his
18 year career in information systems, Mr. Moreland
has been involved in virtually every aspect of information
technology. His experience includes extensive responsibilities
in IT management, project management, network management,
application development, web design and electronic
commerce. Mr. Moreland has written for both business
and technical journals. He has also been interviewed
by, and had his work featured in, many trade magazines
for both the computer and energy businesses. He has
chaired work groups and industry meetings on behalf
of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the
Natural Gas Supply Association. Mr. Moreland has conducted
gas industry training for General Electric and made
numerous industry presentations in conjunction with
such organizations as the American Gas Association,
Gas Industry Standards Board, Petroleum Industry Data
Exchange, Net World, and Executive Enterprises.
In his consulting practice Mr. Moreland has assisted
clients in many areas including IT reorganization,
business process design, staff selection, personnel
evaluation, internet business strategies, web site
design, web application development, client-server
application development, project management, project
evaluation, and search engine marketing.
Prior to founding Sudden Systems, Mr. Moreland enjoyed
a 12 year career with NGC Corp. He was the company's
first IT employee and ascended to the position of Managing
Director - Major Projects as the company grew to become
a member of the Fortune 100. During this time Mr. Moreland
held a wide range of responsibilities in IT management.
He also proved to be very gifted in developing information
technology strategies for start up businesses and rescuing
troubled projects. In addition to his internal responsibilities,
Mr. Moreland was very active in representing NGC in
the development of natural gas industry business and
technical standards.
Before joining NGC, Mr. Moreland held the positions
of PC Coordinator with Akzo Chemie America and Consultant
with Napier & Judd. At Akzo Chemie he functioned
as a one man IT department for the catalyst manufacturing
group. With Napier & Judd he worked as an application
developer and trainer.
